Can we drive a taxi car without operating it after parent's sudden death?

My father who was a taxi driver died recently, it was a sudden death. He was operating at a hotel taxi stand. We only have the taxi car at home and was depending on our father for everyday routine.

I am currently scheduling my oral taxi test but I wanted to know if I can still drive it after passing it. Do I need a paper authorising me driving it with just passing it? We already spoke with NLTA for transfer of the patent. But since I have my full time job, I cant operate as full time. It will take some time for transfer since my case is complicated with a sibling with special need, we had to apply for legal guardian. It might take 3 to 4 months for the case.

I dont want to operate it, just for going to hospital or supermarket, simple for basic family use. We really need a transport and cant spend more money on car pooling and all.

Please any advices. I dont want any problem since my neighbours are not co-orperative and will report if any illegal thing happens with the taxi.

Thank you.
